Honeywell – Primus Epic Certification
Okay, it's not training, but we would never turn away a great customer. Honeywell was in the mood to celebrate, and they invited TraCorp to the party. Phoenix based Aviation Electronic Systems wanted a high-energy presentation that traced the development of the Primus Epic integrated system (a really cool cockpit display) from the first press release in 1996 to the certification on five aircraft platforms in the spring of 2004. The presentation was well received by over 800 Honeywell employees, including the CEO.
Honeywell – Airborne Radar Management
Airborne Radar Management is probably the most widely distributed technical training program in Honeywell's history. The purpose of the program was to train pilots on how to interpret storm strength from radar images given different storm strengths, distances to the storm and aircraft antenna size. The answer was to build a full-blown simulator with data from the National Severe Storms Laboratory and let pilots experience different storm scenarios under varying conditions including altitude, storm age, strength and velocity. Training is not scripted and learning happens as students interact and change simulator parameters. As interaction occurs, an experienced pilot (Elmer) talks to a younger pilot (Laurence) and explains radar techniques and fundamentals. The program also allows aerospace instructors to turn off the audio track and use the program as a learning aide in the classroom.
This program was a semifinalist for Macromedia's Peoples Choice Award, beating out over 1,400 other worldwide entries. It is still used as a case study on Macromedia's website.
Phoenix Children’s Hospital – Bicycle Driver’s Ed
Phoenix Children’s Hospital teamed with TraCorp to create a children’s bike safety program funded by a grant from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety and the Bikes Belong Coalition. Called “Bicycle Driver’s Ed,” the course’s goal is to reduce head traumas in children. Bicycle Driver’s Ed creates a fun and engaging learning environment that motivates children to complete the course and earn a Bicycle Driver’s License. The course includes a teacher’s Online Training Guide that meets state education standards for classroom use.
Environmental Defense and PHH Arval– PHH GreenFleet
Environmental Defense and PHH Arval collaborated to create PHH GreenFleet. The program trains thousands of fleet operators on how to reduce their carbon impact and thus reduce global warming. Drivers learn new fleet operation techniques that save fuel and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Budget Truck – Point of Sale Software Training
Budget Truck implemented a new worldwide point-of-sale system for its rental fleet. TraCorp developed the course using its Bounded Software Simulation techniques for Budget’s 6,000 dealerships. Students were required to practice tasks within simulated scenarios identical to what they will encounter on the job. The course is comprehensive and includes software set up at the dealership along with lessons for frontline and management personnel.");
Lifeloc – Breath Alcohol Technician Training
The Breath Alcohol Technician Training course is another example of TraCorp converting a PowerPoint-based classroom course to online learning with delivery through the TraCorp LMS. The courseware was created in Articulate with source files given to the Lifeloc for long term maintenance. Teaming with TraCorp resulted in a professionally developed course that is easily updated by the customer.
Valley Metro RPTA – Be Right Walk Right
Pedestrian Safety is the second course in a series designed and accredited for Arizona school children. Kids interact with a game environment to make safe route decisions between home, school, the mall and other locations. As with popular video games, a wrong decision means you get run over. The course is available in both English and Spanish and as a self-running version for outlets such as doctors' offices.
Knight Transportation – Operations
TraCorp converted 32 eLearning Captivate® courses to browser-responsive, mobile-ready delivery. Drivers can learn anytime, anywhere in their downtime. The courses were customized to deliver on a proprietary Android platform tablet from the Knight-branded TraCorp LMS platform.
